It was a kingdom before though. And btw… define the USA? You can’t say that going to New York or a nature hike in Hawaii is the same thing.
It’s like the so called territories of my own home country (Denmark), I would never call a person from Greenland a “dane” unless he/she really wanted to – because these “territories” are countries with their own culture and even languages as well. You can go to Greenland, but be uninterested in Denmark, just as an example of what I meant.

Theres oahu which is Honolulu and waikiki. Really great beaches. Theres also the ‘big island’ which is probably the most scenic island. Then theres the others which are also great.

My brother lives in Hawaii and people always ask him if the locals are fat, but it’s just the tourists he says.

Well, actually I live in some islands near Iceland, but I visit Iceland quite often.. long story. Iceland is beautiful and interesting, but winters are quite rough sometimes
I like cold weather though, just not like stormy and freezing at the same time. I wonder if Hawaii is too hot to visit for me
I wonder what the temperatures in December are? Btw, theres a total moon eclipse there on December 21, a nice reason to go see it

I never knew Hawaii was so over touristed.. kind of sad. I’m doing some research because I want to go there for Christmas next year.. to get as far away as possible from where I live, along with my boyfriend. I’m not interested in the USA (never been there), I don’t care about surfing.. but mountain hiking is what I love. I need to go there before I freeze my butt off in Iceland.

Hawaii.
Minus the people. Minus anybody.
The land itself, or the land on all the islands are just absolutely beautiful.

The continent of Mu’u had volcanos as well. Do your research of volcanos around the world then you may understand. Did you know that Kauai was once located where the Big island is. Actually after the pole shift an access to the magma was created in and around that spot, more precisely where Lo’ihi is being formed now. As the continental shelf moves northeast another island is created. So All the islands we commonly call Hawaii was influenced by this seamount. do u know what haole really mean?
